Personal or laboratory research profile:

I am an assistant professor in the COCOON Research Group at Ghent University, working in the field of Atomic Layer Deposition, with a focus on in situ characterizations towards composition and dimensions controlled bottom-up nanomanufacturing for catalysis and energy applications. Ongoing research projects aim to obtain a better understanding of the nucleation and growth of metal nanoparticles by means of advanced synchrotron-based characterization techniques (grazing incidence small angle x-ray scattering, x-ray fluorescence and x-ray absorption spectroscopy). The synchrotron-based studies are performed at the SOLEIL and ESRF synchrotron facilities in France.
