2nd call for registration: 3rd ECI workshop: Science communication and mapping a future road for ECIs
We are announcing the third call for the “3rd ECI workshop: Science communication and mapping a future road for ECIs”, that will be held 8th–9th November 2018 at the Institute of Electrical Engineering Slovak Academy of Science, Bratislava, Slovakia.
The workshop will be dedicated to early career investigators (Ph.D., postdocs, young professors) within the framework of the COST Action HERALD (Hooking together European Research in Atomic Layer Deposition).
We developed an engaging program for this workshop with a goal to bring you all together and discuss the future road for ECIs in European ALD research, provide training for efficient and effective networking, and explore the possibilities for widening and continuation of the ECI network.
The workshop will cover two days with a very vibrant and interactive program. For the first day, we invited the brightest scientists Dr. Simon Elliott and Dr. Fergus McAuliffe within HERALD network and beyond to inspire and guide you within the workshop topic. Dr. Simon Elliott and Dr. Fergus McAuliffe will bring their deepest insight and secrets how to reach excellence in science communication and networking on dedicated lectures. On the second day, we will organize all participants in smaller peer teams to discuss the roadmapping for ECIs and new collaborations.
After the workshop on day 1, we will organize the guided city tour ending with further networking evening somewhere in a one cozy Bratislava place.
Registration is OPEN. We ask you to hurry up with your registration. The number of participants is limited to 30, reimbursements are still available.
The workshop is also open for guest visitors associated with HERALD, ALD research and SAS and only for the first day with preregistration. Details are given on the website.
We are looking forward to meeting you at the workshop!
P.S. Unfortunately, Dr. Niam Shaw, originally supposed to give the training during the workshop, will not be able to attend. However, instead, we invited a TEDx speaker, well known scientific communicator, Dr. Fergus McAuliffe.
